March 14-15, 2018 representatives of SMS Group visited the production site of NPO Akhtuba. During the visit, the prospects for the supply of furnace rollers and radiant tubes were discussed and an inspection technical audit was carried out. All technical issues related to the new project of the SMS Group (for the construction of heat treatment furnaces at one of the plants of Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH) were discussed with the Head of the furnace design division Frank Muller.

In the beginning of January 2017, NPO Akhtuba, which specialises in producing the new generation of centrifugally cast pipes and related products, signed a cooperation agreement with one of the world’s leading casting equipment suppliers, Germany-based company Förder- und Anlagentechnik GmbH (FAT). The agreement was signed as a part of the development investment programme, which NPO Akhtuba is implementing together with the Russian Industrial Development Fund. According to the agreement, the German company will deliver equipment necessary for creating a new production line for shaped casting. NPO Akhtuba plans to launch the shaped casting production line and start new product manufacture by the end of 2017.
